Role Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher of Art and Design who is ready to make the transition to their first curriculum leadership role, or a previous curriculum leader in Art and Design who would like to have more autonomy for their department.

The successful candidate will share the school’s vision and the belief that all young people should be able to enjoy a life of choice and opportunity and be committed to ensuring that every child can achieve their full potential.

Within a small school context, this will be the main Art teacher within the department, and therefore involves teaching Art across KS3 and KS4, and the possibility of launching a KS5 qualification subject to pupil interest.

This is an exciting opportunity as the successful candidate will have creative control of the curriculum and extra-curricular offer, giving them the opportunity to inculcate a deep love for art and design.

  • Expansive knowledge and passion for your subject

  • At least three years teaching experience at Secondary level (R);

  • Strong and evidenced teaching ability, focused on excellent outcomes for all, especially the most vulnerable (D);

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & organisational skills (D);

  • Excellent analytical numeracy and literacy (D);

  • Proven ability to motivate others towards an aspirational goal (D).
