Are you an ambitious and inspirational Science specialist ready to take the next step in your leadership journey? Hampton Gardens is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Science to lead our dedicated team and spearhead outstanding teaching and learning across the department.

As our Director of Science, you will:

  • Lead, inspire and develop a committed team of Science specialists.
  • Drive high quality teaching and learning from Key Stage 3 through Key Stage 5.
  • Shape the curriculum and enrichment offer to ensure students are challenged, engaged and excited by Science.
  • Use data intelligently to secure excellent outcomes for students of all abilities.
  • Contribute to wider Trust collaboration and innovation across schools.
  • Take on agreed leadership responsibilities (these are flexible and will be negotiated with the successful candidate).

About the Science Department:

Our Science team is a strong and growing department comprising subject leads in each discipline, both experienced and Early Career teachers and a team of skilled technicians. Hampton Gardens offers state‑of‑the‑art laboratories and excellent resources to support innovative and practical Science teaching.

We currently deliver:

  • AQA GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy)
  • AQA GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics
  • OCR A‑Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics

Our Key Stage 3 curriculum has been carefully designed to build strong foundations and prepare students fully for their GCSE and A‑Level pathways.

We are looking for a practitioner who:

  • Is an outstanding Science teacher with experience of achieving excellent outcomes.
  • Has a strong track record of leading others or driving improvement initiatives.
  • Can inspire, coach and support colleagues at all levels.
  • Is committed to continuous improvement and innovation in teaching and learning.
  • Is resilient, reflective and passionate about ensuring every student thrives.

Hampton Gardens is an 11-19 free school which opened in September 2017 to an initial intake of 180 Year 7 students. When full, the school will accommodate 1200 students in years 7-11 and 300 students in Sixth Form.

Hampton Gardens is part of the Hampton Academies Trust who also run the highly successful and popular Hampton College all-through school, Hampton Lakes Primary School and Dogsthorpe Infant School. HAT schools have very close links and some shared staff.
