About the role

We are looking for an innovative, passionate, and forward-thinking leader to join our dynamic Science department as the Director of Learning for Science. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented educator ready to shape the future of science education and make a lasting impact on the lives of young people.

Supported by senior leadership, you’ll elevate our curriculum, support the Science staff with high-quality teaching resources, and deliver training that raises the bar for teaching excellence. If you’re ready to lead, collaborate, and inspire, this is the role for you.

You’ll already have some experience leading within Science and a hunger to develop your leadership skills further to be an effective and inspiring faculty leader. You’ll be a team player who thrives on sharing best practice and driving improvement across the department and beyond. Most importantly, you’ll be someone who believes in the power of science to transform lives and wants to be part of that transformation.

About us

Wednesfield Academy joined Matrix Academy Trust in January 2023 and three years later, it is unrecognisable! The school is at a very exciting stage of its journey having received a Good judgment in all categories when it was inspected in February 2025 and much improved GCSE and A Level results in 2025.. This is the ideal opportunity for people who want to share in the excitement of continuing the “rapidly raised expectations” of our school.
