Director of Secondary Mathematics job summary

The Director of Secondary Mathematics will drive improvement in the quality of mathematics education across the Trust, with a particular focus on improving outcomes at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

This role is designed for an outstanding practitioner; we are looking for someone who can demonstrate impact in the classroom. You may be a main scale classroom teacher or have a TLR in Maths. Perhaps you are a senior leader. Background is less important than impact. In particular, can you demonstrate the ability to develop teachers and work effectively with senior leaders at both trust and school level. Can you lead improvement in curriculum, teaching and assessment in Maths and, crucially, student outcomes?

The postholder will combine strategic leadership across SEEAT with a teaching commitment (approx. 0.6 FTE) in one secondary school, modelling excellent practice and supporting rapid school improvement where it is most needed.

Click here to read our recruitment pack. If you would like to discuss the role in more detail, please contact Sophie Roberts, EA on 07745 523 469. She can arrange for you to have a 'virtual coffee' with our CEO, Andrew. All other enquiries should go to hr@seeat.org.

We reserve the right to close the role earlier than the closing date if sufficient applications are received.

South East Essex Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects its entire staff to share this commitment. All postholders working in our schools will be considered to work in Regulated Activity and will be required to have an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance all shortlisted candidates may be subject to online searches that may include social media. For further information please contact hr@seeat.org
