What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a qualified SEND/inclusion leader (NaSENCO qualification or equivalent) to work across our trust in a non-class-based role.

You will be an experienced primary school practitioner, who has successfully led and developed provision in one or more schools.

You will be passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to achieve and succeed.

You will have some experience of curriculum and policy development in relation to SEND, as well as training, developing and supporting other staff.

You'll have a good understanding of different aspects of SEND, and good knowledge of the SEN code of practice. You'll have an interest in current educational issues, recent developments and significant legislative changes in this area.

You will be a positive, proactive, collaborative person with great interpersonal skills, who works and communicates well with children and adults.

You will be flexible and happy to undertake some travel. Our trust central team is based in Battersea/Clapham, but you will work across our four south London primary schools, which means visiting and supporting our school-based teams when required.

What the school offers its staff

This role is an exciting opportunity to develop and support provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and play a significant role in influencing outcomes for hundreds of children.

Quality First Education (Q1E) is a successful Multi-Academy Trust with four primary schools on five sites across south London. You will be part of our excellent, dynamic, friendly central team who provide support to school-based colleagues.

Our schools are:

Belleville Primary School, a large, popular, outstanding school in Battersea, with over 900 pupils on two sites and a focus on positive learning behaviour and high expectations for all children;

Belleville Wix Academy in Battersea, which uniquely shares its site with a French school and offers an English/French bilingual stream in addition to its mainstream English provision;

Churchfields Primary School, a popular school in Beckenham with fantastic grounds, a Forest School and a small resource base for children for children with severe and complex needs;

The Alton Primary School in Roehampton, a one-form entry school right next to beautiful Richmond Park, with an on-site resource base (The Woodland Centre) for children with autism and associated learning difficulties.

Our schools are linked together by a relentless drive for improvement, excellence and equality. Together we provide a high-quality education for the children we serve. One of our core principles is the belief that “the quality of an education system (or school) cannot exceed the quality of its teachers” (McKinsey 2007). This lies at the centre of what we do and how we operate.

Our four schools have many differences, but they are united in having fantastic and welcoming staff teams, a shared curriculum, and consistent Q1E structures to support them. We have a well developed, outstanding curriculum and strong systems in place to help children achieve. Staff benefit from a supportive, developmental environment with plenty of opportunities for career growth.

This is an exciting time for us and we want the best people to join us as we grow further. We would love to hear from you.
