DIRECTOR SEND – SECONDARY SPECIALIST
DELTA ACADEMIES TRUST

Delta Academies Trust are looking to appoint a Secondary Director SEND to join us in September 2021 on a full time, permanent basis.

The Director SEND (Secondary) is the Lead Professional responsible for the quality and assessment of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision across the Trust’s Secondary Academies. There is also a requirement to work with Primary colleagues, including the Director of SEND (Primary), to develop Trust wide policies and practice. The Secondary Director SEND is accountable for the improvement and progress of the SEN provision working alongside and supporting Principals and Subject Directors to accelerate improvement, raise standards and provide support to improve the learning experience for all pupils with any SEN needs, whatever their ability. Ensuring consistency of the SEN provision across the network of academies.

The Secondary Director SEND will act as a lead professional to support SENCOs and academy and Trust leaders in delivering high quality support in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice.

The Secondary Director SEND will work with all Secondary academies and their Local Authority to ensure that appropriate placements and provisions are in place for all students with SEND. They will be Directly Accountable to the Deputy CEO and Secondary Assistant Director of Education.

The Trust has Academies across 11 Local Authorities. You will be required to work with these academies. A full driving licence is essential, and the Trust will pay travel expenses. In addition, the Trust has a salary sacrifice scheme that includes vehicle leasing.

Salary: Leadership scale L7 - 11 (£49,019 - £54,091).
