The Drama department at Easingwold has two resourced rooms. Both classrooms have a lighting rig and these are used frequently at all key stages and highly effective episodes of guided practice to develop strong procedural knowledge and confidence for independent and deliberate practice. The established KS3 Drama curriculum is well planned and is designed as a progressive course that allows the teacher autonomy in the classroom to fulfill their potential. It fully prepares students for the KS4 qualifications giving experiences from physical theatre and facial expressions to specific practitioner focus such as Brecht to Artaud. The Drama Department offers the KS4 qualification of OCR Drama, giving students the opportunity to excel in their love and enthusiasm for Drama.

The department produces outstanding outcomes, with relentless ambition to improve on previous years. Many of our students go on to study Drama at college and university. In addition we have been successful in recent years within the OGAT ‘Outwood Performance of the Year’, this amazing evening sees musicians, actors and dancers from across the trust come together in a concert to celebrate the talents of.

We currently offer a wide range of enrichment activities for students across the faculty from Performing Arts Club and GCSE enrichment as well as Art Club, Photography Club and GCSE enrichment in Art as well as Choir, School of Rock and Concert Band. The faculty puts on two concerts a year as well as Battle of The Bands and a big production, normally a musical, and plays.
