ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Drama Teacher to join our expressive and ambitious Performing Arts team at Trinity Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and creative teacher to inspire students, nurture talent, and contribute to a vibrant culture of performance within the Academy.
As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering a knowledge-rich and skills-focused Drama curriculum, ensuring students of all abilities have access to high‑quality performing arts education. You will help cultivate students’ confidence, creativity, and appreciation of theatre, while fostering an environment where excellent progress and enjoyment go hand in hand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver high-quality Drama teaching across key stages, ensuring lessons are engaging, challenging, and rooted in strong subject knowledge.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a rigorous, knowledge-rich Drama curriculum.
- Inspire students to explore performance, theatre history, and dramatic techniques with curiosity and enthusiasm.
- Support and guide students through practical work, written components, and exam preparation.
- Play an active role in school productions, extracurricular clubs, and wider performing arts opportunities.
- Monitor student progress, using assessment to inform planning and ensure excellent outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote Drama and the performing arts within the wider school community.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL HAVE:
- A strong academic background, ideally with a good honours degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related discipline.
- A deep passion for Drama and the performing arts, with excellent subject knowledge and a desire to share this with students.
- The ability to teach inspiring, well-structured lessons that motivate students of all abilities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the enthusiasm to contribute to a culture of performance and creativity.
- A commitment to high standards and a drive to raise achievement in Drama.
- An unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives, in line with our trust’s motto, libertas per cultum (freedom through education).
