What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and committed Teacher of Drama to work in the secondary phase of Cranbrook Education Campus on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave for one year, commencing 1st September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students through Drama while also contributing, where required, to the teaching of Food Technology and Art. The successful candidate will have the ability to engage and motivate students across a range of abilities, fostering creativity, confidence, and a love for the arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Support the delivery of Food Technology and Art lessons as needed.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, including school productions or creative clubs (desirable).
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student progress.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Have experience teaching Drama, with the willingness or ability to teach Food Technology and/or Art.
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Be flexible, adaptable, and a team player.
  • Show a genuine passion for the creative arts and student development.
