Early Career Teacher – Science (Secondary)

Pay Range: Teachers Main Pay Scale

Actual Salary from £31,650 - £43,607 (M1-M6)

The Role

Philip Morant School and College is seeking a dynamic, motivated Early Career Teacher to join the school from July 2025.

We also have ECT vacancies for Teacher of Science at the following schools:

  • Clacton County High School
  • Colne Community School and College
  • Paxman Academy
  • St Helena School
  • The Stanway School

As a Teacher, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Teach your subject with enthusiasm

Early Career Payments:

Over the last few years eligible teachers of Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Languages have been able to apply for an Early Careers Payment. Eligibility is based on when you start your initial teacher training course and your qualifications. Alongside this the government also has the Targeted Retention Incentive scheme. Payments range from £3,000 to £6,000, applicable subjects are Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Computing. Eligible Sigma schools this year are Thomas Lord Audley School, Clacton County High School, Harwich & Dovercourt High School and Paxman Academy. You may wish to consider this as part of your application process. Although, please note these payments have not been confirmed for next year, therefore we can’t guarantee these payments will be available 2025/26.
