Early Years 1:1 Learning Assistant job summary
At Ingoldmells Academy we are looking for a new member to join our successful and welcoming team, to provide 1:1 support for the learning and personal development of a pupil with additional needs and/or disabilities. The role is based in EYFS.
This post is a full time 1 year fixed contract at 32.5 hours per week with potential to become a permanent position depending on the Academy needs.

About the role:
We need a skilled 1:1 Learning Assistant to enable the pupil to learn as effectively as possible by:
- Ensuring the pupil is able to use equipment and resources through high quality modelling and support.
- Motivating and encouraging the pupil as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to their needs.
- Liaising with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals about Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP), contributing to the planning and delivery.
- Providing nurture and high levels of social support.
- Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies.
- Helping to make appropriate resources to support the pupil.
- Providing intense support and guidance using knowledge of pupils’ needs to ensure continuity.
Desirable knowledge and experience:
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant within a Primary school.
- Knowledge of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and/or the National Curriculum.
- An understanding of inclusion, making the curriculum accessible to all learners.
- The ability to work in a team in order to achieve successful outcomes for learners.
- Candidate must possess at minimum a relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification.
