Early Years Apprentice job summary

We are looking for someone who has an interest in working with young children under 5 years. Has the ability to relate and interact with children and most importantly should be enthusiastic and caring.

Key duties within this role include:

  • plan activities for and with the children;
  • organise play areas, materials and equipment;
  • encourage fair and caring behaviour among the children;
  • encourage independence and self-esteem;
  • talk to children about their concerns or worries;
  • deal with injuries and emergencies;
  • liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals.

Training:

  • working towards a Level 2 Early Years Apprenticeship over 12 months.

  • understand the play needs of children and young people;
  • provide a stimulating but safe environment;
  • work with integrity and enthusiasm;
  • be aware of health and safety issues.
