An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Educator to join a friendly and supportive team at Croyland Nursery School & Day Nursery, working 37 hours per week on a 52-week contract.
Foundations for Children Nursery Schools Federation comprises of fourmaintained nursery schools: Camrose Early Years Centre for Children& Families and Parklands Nursery School in Northampton; andCroyland Nursery School & Day Nursery and Highfield Nursery Schoolin Wellingborough. Purpose
- To actively work as part of the nursery school team to provide high quality education and care for children aged 0-5 years and their families, and to record their development
- To implement plans and programmes by working with a key group of children to ensure that their needs are met and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum is delivered
Main duties
- To positively contribute towards the nursery school's inclusion policy by promoting anti-discriminatory practice and valuing individual identity, culture, heritage and beliefs
- To assist in planning, evaluating and delivering the EYFS curriculum in the nursery. The postholder will aim to provide safe, stimulating and appropriate play activities which promote children's social, emotional, physical and intellectual development both indoors and outdoors
- To assist EY Practitioners in making assessments and maintaining records for a group of children, in consultation with other team members
- To be involved in discussions with other professionals, and with the compilation of appropriate reports and assessments for reviews or case conferences which relate to children who have been referred or have additional needs
- To work flexibly across the nursery, covering duties for colleagues through bouts of illness, holidays or training, in order to maintain services for families
- To assist and accompany EY Practitioners in providing home visits to children and their families, and to collaborate with parents/carers, encouraging their involvement in children's learning
- To work, where necessary, with individual parents/carers and children, with respect and understanding for their individual needs, ensuring their welfare and maintaining courtesy and confidentiality at all times
- To undertake lunchtime supervision duties as and when required
- To report any cause for concern regarding a child's health or welfare to the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) and, where necessary, discussing this with parents/carers
- To work as part of a team, taking responsibility for maintaining high standards in the organisation and care of resources and equipment
- To record any accidents in the accident book and, where appropriate, report these to the relevant key worker and to a senior member of staff
- To attend weekly staff meetings, all training days (5 per annum) and sessions for parents/carers where appropriate
- To participate in visits and outings which extend the curriculum
- To take responsibility for your own professional development and duties in relation to school policies and practices
- To safeguard all children and yourself by following school policies and procedures, reporting any cause for concern for a child's health and/or welfare to a DSL
