Homefield Church of England Primary and Nursery School is a wonderful school situated in the village of Bradwell. We are very proud of our school community, which is underpinned by strong Christian values that thrive on mutual respect and positive relationships. We are a fully inclusive school where diversity is celebrated and everyone is welcomed. We encourage applicants from all ethnic groups/cultures and we actively strive to ensure that our staff team represents the culturally diverse society that we live in.
The staff at Homefield are relentlessly focusing on teaching and learning; striving for excellence now and in the future. To be successful in gaining this post, we require someone who can become immersed in our school vision of ‘Curious Minds, Open Hearts and Joy of Learning’ where children are encouraged to have big ideas and be actively involved in all learning experiences.
It is an exciting time for Homefield, as we prepare to move into our brand new school building. At the end of the academic year 2026/2027 we will be moving to a purpose built new school, expanding over time to have up to 420 pupils. This position is initially a fixed term contract for 2 academic years due to the transition into the new school building/area, but is likely to be extended as the school’s capcity grows.
We require a Level 3 or above Early Years Lead Practitioner to lead our Nursery in partnership with our Early Years Leader. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their career to be part of a supportive team that values high-quality practice, inclusion and professional development.
We are looking for somebody with good communication skills, a welcoming and friendly approach that demonstrates a high level of professionalism, while being able to relate well to both children and adults. As a Lead Practitioner, you’ll be a positive role model for excellent Early Years practice, helping to create a nurturing, stimulating, well-organised and safe environment where our youngest children can thrive. Working closely with our Early Years Leader, you’ll play an important role in supporting the operational flow of the nursery whilst maintaining the highest standards of wellbeing, care, teaching and learning.
We are looking to appoint a Lead Practitioner with a level 3 or above qualification in Early Years, good standards of literacy, numeracy (C or equivalent at GCSE) and computing skills. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage to help move children’s learning forward.
We can offer you an enthusiastic friendly and committed team within a supportive school community, where we laugh every day! We are a happy, positive school with motivated children who enjoy their learning. Pupils are very well behaved and love to talk with visitors about our school. Hours of work, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.15am -4.15pm.
If you are interested in this position and would like further information please contact the Mrs Kerry Savage via the school office 01493 661691. Visits to the school/nursery and warmly welcomed.
