What skills and experience we're looking for
The pupils, staff and governors of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced learning support assistant to work with SEND pupils in Early Years. We are looking for caring, flexible and conscientious people who display a total commitment to the principles of inclusion. The role involves aspects of intimate personal care and working with pupils with challenging behaviour.
We are looking for people who have:
Excellent English and maths skills
A good understanding of inclusion and supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs
An understanding of how children learn in Early Years
Patience, resilience and a positive outlook
Good organisation and communication skills enabling them to work effectively as part of a team
The ability to work flexibly and adapt to changes
The ability to engage with parents and develop positive relationships with pupils and staff
A commitment to the school’s Catholic ethos (you do not need to be Catholic yourself)
