Early Years Practitioner job summary

The Greenfield and Hurst Drive Federation consists of two schools: Greenfield Nursery School and Hurst Drive Primary School. They are situated in Waltham Cross in the Borough of Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. We are privileged as a Federation to serve children from a rich and diverse local community and are committed to providing the very highest quality education for all our children.

We are looking to recruit a Qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join our team at Greenfield Nursery School in January 2026. This is a fixed-term contract till July 2026, term time only role - 38 weeks plus 5 INSET days (pro-rata)

Greenfield Nursery School is a large maintained nursery educating children aged between 2-4 years. We are looking for a strong pedagogue who wants to develop as well as passing their skills and understanding to others.

We want to ensure that all our children have access to high quality provision enabling them to learn and build positive relationships with those around them. We are fully committed to child led play and inclusive pedagogical practices, so all children thrive and develop a love of learning.

All staff can nominate a Wellbeing Day annually, we provide regular supervisions and have access to services provided by Education Mutual (e.g. physiotherapy, counselling and 24 hour GP).

  • About you:

  • You will be an experienced practitioner and have a excellent understanding of the requirements of the EYFS. You will have up to date knowledge of current pedagogy and practice, particularly for disadvantaged groups

  • You will be a passionate educator who wants to make a difference to children of all backgrounds with diverse needs

  • You understand the importance of working respectfully, in partnership with parent/carers; colleagues and professionals

  • You believe in evidence-based practice and you are a keen learner yourself.

  • You are passionate about working in a team and you understand the importance of clear communication and openness.
