About this Role

Peakirk-cum-Glinton Primary School are looking for an Early Years Practitioner (Keyworker) for their Pre-School, The Owls’ Nest.

  • Work pattern: 18 hours, 08:50am– 2:50pm, 3 days per week, 40 weeks per year, (term time plus 2 weeks in the summer holidays(Aug))

Peakirk cum Glinton C.E. Primary School, is a small family school with great children and a hardworking and caring team of staff who are dedicated to the inclusion of all pupils. We operate a popular and successful pre-school as part of the school with wonderful children and experienced, supportive and dedicated staff.

As keyworker, your role is to support the pre-school team and pupils at our happy, well-resourced and purpose built pre-school. You will act as keyworker for a small number of children, engaging them through planned play and learning and communicating your observations and assessments with families.

We are looking for an applicant to join our happy and supportive team who shares our inclusive ethos, has a child centred approach and is sensitive to the needs of pupils. The right candidate will have experience of early years and have a working knowledge of early years requirements. They will have experience of caring for children as young as 2 years of age.

As the pre school is fortunate enough to belong to Peterborough Diocese Trust and is very much part of the school you will be joining a supportive network, be supported and eventually work closely with early years lead who will support you in your role. It is our vision that the pupils and staff will benefit from the pre school and reception class settings working closely together. Staff are expected to demonstrate flexibility and may be required to work across both the pre-school and school setting as needed, ensuring consistency and continuity in our high standard of care and education.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be committed to our school’s ethos of care and support for ALL children.
  • Be an experienced level 3 early years practitioner
  • Be highly motivated, keen to continue to develop and grow, have a positive attitude and be prepared to embrace and lead change
  • Experienced in or willing to train in expected legal requirements such as first aid, health and safety and safeguarding
