Northrepps Pre-School and Nursery is an independent unit, based within the grounds of Northrepps Primary School. We have our own dedicated outside area which allows the children to safely free-flow in and out. We enjoy a very close relationship with the main school which ensures a seamless transition into ‘big’ school when the time comes.
We strongly believe that children learn best through play and by following their interests. In order to support this, we use ‘In the Moment’ Planning to facilitate learning. To ensure we meet all the educational, safeguarding and welfare needs of all our children we closely follow the Early Years Statutory Framework.
Our indoor environment is warm, calm and incredibly inviting. We believe that a pre-school setting should be an extension of home so use plants, soft lighting and furnishings, and authentic and natural resources to create a real ‘home from home’ experience for the children. So much so, that we invite the children to wear slippers when inside!
We encourage the children to spend as much time outdoors as possible, whatever the weather. Outdoor play allows children to interact with the natural world and weather, take managed risks, solve problems, and gain a deeper understanding of their environment in a way that is different and often more expansive than indoor settings.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Level 2 Early Years Practitioner. Hours of work, Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 3.30pm.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic
- Promotes a love of learning
- Deals wisely with difficulty, creatively with challenge and with resilience through adversity
- Sees the potential in every child
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Is reflective and ambitious
- Has the desire to continue their own professional development
We can offer:
- a caring and supportive environment that actively promotes staff professional development
- friendly, encouraging and positive staff team
- children who come from a range of backgrounds filled with excitement, joy and enthusiasm
- high levels of parental engagement and community support
For an informal discussion about the role, please call the office on 01263 579396.
