Further details about the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and caring Early Years Practitioner to join our team. This Early Years Practitioner post is based in the Children’s Centre at Sharrow School – within an innovative school building which incorporates purpose-built childcare provision for children from 3 months to 11 years.

The Children’s Centre is open from 8am and 5pm throughout the year (except at Christmas) and prides itself on offering a flexible provision to meet the needs of parents – with some children doing 2 or 3 mornings or afternoons a week during term-time, others doing a mixture of full and part-days and some attending full-time on an all year-round contract.

This is an all year-round position as the Children’s Centre team are also responsible for running the Sharrow After School Club for the children in Reception and Nursery, as well as the Holiday Club provision for children from across the school (Children’s Centre through to Year 6). Holiday entitlement therefore has to be taken in term-time rather than during the school holidays.

Commitment to safeguarding

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. It is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity working with children. This position is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure check in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
