What skills and experience we're looking for
We require a resourceful, enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join our EYFS team as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant (Early Years Practitioner). This post will play a key role in supporting children across the phase. You will work under the direction of the Phase Leader and Teachers.
All candidates should have experience of working in a school environment or with young people.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) unit consists of a 39 place Nursery and a 60 place Reception provision.

The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching and senior staff to implement and enhance the high quality provision.
The successful candidate will need to:
- Have a good knowledge and experience of working within the EYFS framework
- Have a passion for working with children and enhancing their development
- Have the skills and knowledge to support children with a range of needs, using effective strategies to promote positive learning
- Be confident being responsible for a group of key children
- Have previous experience of supporting Nursery children
- Have proven class and behaviour management skills
- Be someone who is enthusiastic and motivated to challenge, inspire and motivate the children
- Be open to new ideas and committed to working as part of the school team
- Show a commitment to on-going professional development

Brookburn Primary School is located in Chorlton, Manchester and is part of the Connect Alliance Trust, comprising of four other local primary schools: Barlow Hall, Beaver Road, Cavendish and Northenden.
We are a two form entry primary school and currently have 427 children on roll. This includes a 39 place nursery. Approximately a third of our school population come from ethnic minority backgrounds with about 7% of our children having English as an additional language. Approximately 10% of our children are identified as vulnerable learners and 9% of children are eligible for pupil premium funding. The majority of our vulnerable children are or have been previously looked after and therefore inclusive practice and fostering a strong sense of belonging is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that relationships are key to the successful inclusion of all.
