Early Years Reception Class Teacher (Maternity Cover) job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Teacher to join our friendly team to cover a period of maternity leave from January 2026 to December 2026.

Castlemorton CE Primary is a small, nurturing Church of England school set in a beautiful rural location, with a strong sense of community and a commitment to enabling every child to flourish.

Our Early Years provision consists of a Pre-School and Reception class, working closely together as one cohesive unit. The successful candidate will join our experienced and highly skilled EYFS team, who provide a warm, stimulating and engaging start to children’s learning journeys through a play-based, child-centred approach.

We are seeking someone who:

Has experience of teaching in the EYFS, with a secure understanding of early childhood development and the EYFS Framework.

Is creative, caring and reflective, with the ability to provide an engaging and enabling learning environment both indoors and outdoors.

Works well as part of a small, collaborative team and is committed to the school’s Christian values of compassion, courage, respect, justice and perseverance.

Has high expectations for all children and a passion for helping them develop a love of learning from the very start of their school journey.
