Scale 7 (£27,334 to £33,024 FTE)

Contract: Permanent, term time only

Start date: September 2024

Reporting to: SENCo and Head of school

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (8.15am -4.15pm Monday – Friday)

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership of SEND within Ayrton, developing our inclusive culture and practice for children will high level SEND needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCo and external agencies, leading on the development and coordination of the provision of SEND for children with high level needs. Teaching responsibilities will include leading the SEND provision, which is based on stage not age. The successful candidate will also lead and support staff in achieving best practice for children with SEND, enabling all children to thrive and achieve their very best.

 

Ideal candidates will have:

- Experience of working with children with Special Needs

- Thorough knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice

- The ability to lead and support staff in developing their knowledge and expertise in working with SEND children

- Skilful in working with pupils with a range of different abilities and needs

- To work effectively with the Head of School and SLT to achieve excellence

- Good communication skills and an ability to work within a team and maintain effective relationships with parents and carers

- The necessary communication skills enabling liaison with a variety of external agencies
