Early Years Specialist Teacher job summary
Salary: MPR/UPR plus SEN Allowance (£2,270 PA)
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and creative Early Years Specialist teacher with a passion for teaching children with SEND.
We are looking for someone who has experience in teaching children with SEND and Autism whether in a special or a mainstream setting and possesses the following key qualities:
a passion for working with pupils who have social, emotional and mental health needs as well as those with significant learning needs
a creative and innovative approach to engaging pupils and overcoming barriers to learning, providing them with the knowledge, resilience and skills to develop their potential
a firm but nurturing approach, with relentless focus on pupil progress and high expectations of pupil learning and behaviour
commitment to their own professional development and be willing to engage in training opportunities
The post would suit a teacher with proven Early years or primary experience. Training in approaches to teaching the wide range of pupils on roll will be provided for the successful applicant e.g. physical intervention, autism.
Your application should demonstrate your experience, commitment, knowledge and passion for working with children with SEND and Autism, along with a willingness and enthusiasm to contribute further to the wider life and ethos of the school. The successful applicant will be required to teach the whole primary curriculum, therefore please include your curriculum strengths and interests in your application.

Nethergate Academy is an Outstanding special academy in the City of Nottingham for 158 pupils aged 5-19 with a range of moderate and complex learning difficulties, many have additional needs (including autism, social and emotional, communication, sensory and/or medical needs). In September 2019 we opened a new specialist provision for children with autism as their primary need.
