What skills and experience we're looking for
Do you have experience in a nursery setting and are looking for a new challenge?
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Early Years Support Practitioner to join our pre-school and work alongside a highly-experienced Early Years Lead Practitioner. Applicants should already hold a level 2 or level 3 Early Years qualification, be confident and highly motivated. This is a temporary position linked to funding and could be a great first step for someone looking to extend their experience beyond nursery. For the 2024-2025 academic year, we are looking for someone to be available on Wednesday afternoons and all day on Thursdays and Fridays. Sessions in the pre-school are from 8.30am-11.30am and 12pm-3pm. Children also have the option to stay for lunch.
What the school offers its staff
About Acorns Pre-school
Acorns Pre-school is very much part of Trinity Oaks C of E Primary School. We take children aged three and four and offer explorative learning through play. Activities are planned by a qualified teacher and there is close integration between Reception and Pre-school with much opportunity for outdoor learning. Although they have their own EYFS area, pre-school children can use the school grounds and other parts of the building, such as having lunch in the school hall. Whether they stay on and join Trinity Oaks CofE Primary School, or move to a new setting, children are well-prepared for school life by the time they leave Acorns.
We can offer
• Term-time only hours
• Established, friendly and professional staff team
• A positive working environment
• Local Government Pension Scheme
• Free access to an employee assistance programme
• A supportive and involved school community
Induction, support and training will be provided. An understanding and support of the school’s Christian ethos is essential.
Commitment to safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced-level check via the Disclosure & Barring Service will be required for the successful candidate. We will also conduct an online check of shortlisted applicants based on guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education. All applications must be made using the School’s application form. CVs will not be accepted.
