Further details about the role
Wilburton CE Primary School are seeking to appoint a new teacher for our Early Years Foundation Class. This position is a job-share arrangement, working alongside our existing teacher and SENDCo and Inclusion Lead. The teaching commitment is all day Wednesday and Thursday, plus 10% PPA time to be taken at home, outside these days.
“Fieldmice Class” includes up to 20 Reception pupils (reducing to a PAN of 15 from September 2026), and a small group of pre-schoolers, in the year before they start Reception. Ratios including the pre-school children would mean the maximum total number of children is 26.
Pre-school children will only attend sessions in the mornings on Wednesdays and Thursdays next academic year, and on these two afternoons, Reception children will be joined by 8 Year 1 pupils. The successful candidate will plan, deliver and assess Foundation subjects on these two afternoons for Year 1s and Reception children (for example, PE, Understanding the World (Science, Geography/History) and Creative Development (Art/D&T). Therefore, knowledge of the KS1 curriculum is desirable. You will also deliver Music one morning to the pre-school and reception children.
Language development is vitally important for us, and this must be a key feature of provision.
The closing date is 12pm on Friday 2nd May. Interviews will take place on Friday 9th May.
