Following our full, section 5 Ofsted inspection on 5th and 6th July 2022 we are very pleased that Bishop Chavasse Primary School has been judged as a 'Good' school, providing 'Outstanding' provision for our early years children. Our children’s aspirational journey through the school was noted with ‘high expectations reflected in all phases of the school’.

Pupils moved into our brand new, state of the art school building in April 2019 which offers our pupils access to a stunning, well stocked library, a STEAM room, well-equipped music room, additional learning spaces and colourful, well equipped break-out spaces including play therapy and sensory room. Our outdoor spaces include designated play and sports areas for Year R, KS1 and KS2. These include sports field, Multi-Use Games area (MUGA), trim trails, climbing equipment, outdoor classroom, play barn and playground games - all ideal for outdoor learning and play. In addition, we have a newly-established Forest School area.

All pupils, regardless of background, are offered a full and enriching curriculum from the start which enables them to master the knowledge and skills they need to achieve their full educational and personal potential. It is our passion to develop the whole child in a safe, inclusive, Christian environment.

Our Church of England primary school is at the heart of our local community, where staff, parents and children are flourishing through working, learning and playing together. As a Church of England school, Bishop Chavasse is linked with St Stephen’s Church and other local churches in Tonbridge and we have access to the excellent support provided by the Rochester Diocesan Board of Education.

Tenax Schools Trust is a dynamic and enterprising organisation which is underpinned by a strong Christian character and ethos and is a formidable local driver of school improvement. Our Trust delivers high standards through a strong belief in an approach that insists that all children and young people can excel irrespective of their starting points. The Trust leads the Kent Teaching School Hub which delivers the Early Career Framework, as well as the NPQ suite of qualifications. Teach Kent and Sussex, is our Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ initial teacher training centre, operating from Bennett Memorial Diocesan School. This wider work by the Trust provides a wealth of potential CPD opportunities.
