Early Years Teaching Assistant and WAC Assistant job summary
Kyson Primary School is seeking to appoint a passionate and skilled teaching assistant in Early Years to join our friendly and supportive staff team. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of young children in our early years unit and wrap around care provision.
- Working Hours - 32 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am - 5pm (1-hour unpaid lunchbreak)
- Temporary until 31st August 2027, with a view to becoming permanent should funding allow.

We are looking for someone who will provide high-quality support to children in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) unit and wrap around care offer. Assist in the delivery of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring each child’s individual needs are met. You will also support the planning and preparation of learning activities and promote a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors, including our woodland area. The role will involve attending to children’s personal care and wellbeing as needed. You will support the wrap around care leader in all aspects of running the school’s wraparound childcare provision, ensuring a safe, caring and stimulating environment for all children from nursery to Year 6.
The ideal candidate would holdLevel 3 qualification in Early Years, Paediatric First Aid qualification. A strong understanding of the current EYFS curriculum. Experience working with Reception and Nursery age pupils.
