At Crown Street Primary School we provide ‘education on another level, where possibilities are endless’ in a safe and secure environment where pupils are valued and cared for.
We believe that happy children are the best learners, so our curriculum places the personal development of pupils at its heart. We want school to be an enjoyable and exciting place where all our pupils will be encouraged to believe that possibilities are endless. Crown Street Primary School opened in September 2024 and currently has 40 pupils on roll across Pre-School and Reception.
At Crown Primary School, as in each Laurus Trust school, our ethos derives from a firm belief that all pupils are entitled to an outstanding state education, incorporating learning and enrichment opportunities which we offer through our Academic and Enrichment Curriculum. Our ambition is for all pupils to develop a full appreciation of the world in which they are growing up and to understand the opportunities and challenges of the world we live in.
We want our pupils to be equipped to make a positive contribution to their local and global community, now and in the future. We want to empower our children to have their own voice, to know their own mind and be able to change the world for the better.
Our Enrichment Curriculum is best understood through the four cornerstones that underpin it:
- Leadership and Service
- Competition and Physical Endeavour
- Culture, Creativity and Rhetoric
- Academic Aspiration
Reading and books are the bedrock of our academic curriculum, which goes beyond the National Curriculum to ensure all pupils benefit from the very best education. We will teach the powerful knowledge pupils need, in all curriculum areas, for successful lives beyond our walls – opening the doors to a future of their choice – whatever that may be.
We believe that the Early Years is a crucial stage in the education of every pupil this is especially relevant to Crown Street in our opening year, where we have the privilege of being able to immerse ourselves fully in the Early Years Foundation Stage. We treat every child as an individual and we provide just the right amount of challenge and support for them to fulfill their potential.
