Early Years Teaching Assistant - Level 3 (qualified only need apply) job summary

St Joseph & St Theresa Catholic Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, child-centred and highly-skilled, level 3 qualified early years teaching assistant with experience of supporting children in an educational setting. You will be expected to work as part of our passionate and dedicated early years team ensuring the welfare of our youngest children at all times; this role will initially be based in our nursery classroom.

We are a one-form entry primary school with approximately 225 children overall and between 20-35 children in the nursery.

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to the Catholic ethos of the school
  • Have flexible, energetic and 'can do' attitude
  • Take responsibility for supporting nursery pupils learning using play partnerships with individuals and small groups and also work in the whole class setting
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the EYFS framework, including health & safety responsibilities
  • Understand how to safeguard young children, make a positive contribution to their well-being and the importance of confidentiality
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively as part of a supportive team to acheive the best possible outcomes for all children
  • Possess or be prepared to complete a Paediatric First Aid qualification

We are offering the opportunity to work in a welcoming environment with a highly-experienced staff team and contribute to the Catholic ethos of our school. Training and support will be offered to the successful candidate to ensure they meet the minimum expectations of understanding Keeping Children Safe in Education Level 1, Safeguarding and Health & Safety obligations in relation to the role.

32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks a year (term time only + 5 inset days)

Working hours: Monday to Friday
