The role
We are looking for a nurturing, skilled and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our EYFS team from 8th September 2025. This role is central to supporting our youngest learners during this crucial stage of development.

Contract: 30 hours per week, term time only, fixed term for one year, initially.

Key responsibilities:

Work alongside the class teacher to deliver high-quality learning experiences rooted in play and exploration

Provide personalised support to individual children and small groups

Help to create a warm, safe, and stimulating environment where every child feels valued and known

Observe and contribute to assessment and planning using the Early Years Framework

Build strong relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to support holistic development

An understanding of child development and the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum

Someone creative, adaptable, and full of energy—with a real sense of joy and purpose

A team player with good communication skills and a desire to keep learning

Ideally, a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years (or willingness to train)

St Barnabas Multi Academy Trust is made up of a group of 13 schools, of which St Martin's CE Primary School is one, who work closely together in order to ensure they provide the best education for pupils in the Liskeard Area.
