What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to a continued increase in pupil numbers, we have a vacancy for an Early Years Teaching Assistant. We are looking for someone who is patient, understanding, invested in supporting and nurturing children and who is a team player willing to go the extra mile.
Our Early Years Provision is situated in its own purpose-built area. Our two classrooms are joined by a continuous provision area containing a wide range of resources and activities, ideal for small groups to enjoy hands-on play or quiet reading. We also have our sheltered deck area and playground, for outdoor provision, furnished with tables and chairs to move lessons and activities outside.
About You
The successful applicant will work alongside the Nursery Lead to support children in the important first stage of their Stakesby journey, promoting our school values of commitment, kindness and excellence in all they do.
The ideal candidate would have recent, relevant experience of working with primary-age children with complex or additional needs and a NVQ or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline.
This vacancy is for the remainder of the academic year initially, with the possibility of extending into the following academic year and beyond, depending on pupil numbers.
What the school offers its staff
Here at Stakesby Primary Academy we share a special and unique learning environment with friendly and welcoming children, staff and governors, and we are proud to serve the wider community of Whitby and surrounding villages.
Our staff are loyal and helpful and we value the career development of our staff, offering training and opportunities within our school and in the wider Enquire Learning Trust network.
We are a forest school and we regularly utilise the extensive outdoor areas in our wider curriculum.
Further details about the role
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and it expects staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
