Early Years Teaching Assistant job summary
Our school has been on a journey over the last few years, and we have rapidly improving standards, which our curriculum reflects. Reading is at the heart of our curriculum, and we provide children with real-life experiences for writing through our Forest Schools programme and our WOW experiences and trips.
We support and nurture our children with our dedicated Family and Nurture Teams, who support children and their families.
At Whitefield , we are proud to have achieved the Gold School Games Award and the Platinum School Health and Well-being Award; we offer a free comprehensive after-school activities programme for our pupils.
Whitefield is a 2-form entry school with 60 Reception places available each year. In addition, we have 78 places for children aged 3-4 in our Nursery, offering both 15 and 30- hour placements with a full wraparound childcare facility from 7:45am to 5:30pm .
Level 3 Teaching Assistant with EYS experience
Hours of work: 30 hours per week - Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 3:30pm with 1- hour lunch break, Term Time only
Actual Annual Salary £16,764-£17,332
We are looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work within our Early Years Team.
The ideal candidate would be someone able to work calmly and flexibly using a variety of interventions to meet the needs of our children.
You must enjoy the challenge of working with our remarkable children and want to make a difference to their wellbeing and education.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with young/people and/or an understanding of special needs.

Main duties:
1. To work with our Nursery provision supporting the planning and implementation of activities with individual or groups of children; promoting effective teaching and learning.
2. To provide a purposeful, stimulating environment rich in learning opportunities, both indoors and outdoors.
3. To meet the physical needs of children, encouraging good standards of personal hygiene, whilst promoting independence pupils in accordance with the school's health and safety related policies.
4. To provide support for the children's emotional and social needs by implementing the principles of the school's Behaviour Policy and by role modelling high standards in all aspects of their role and personal conduct.
