We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Educational Psychologist to join our multi-disciplinary team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with students, staff, and families to make a meaningful impact on pupils' lives through direct intervention, systemic support, and whole-school development.
We are a forward-thinking organisation, working with young people and children who have not found traditional learning easy. We operate two SEMH schools, a new Vocational Study Centre and a Children’s Home in the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft areas.
Main Duties:
- Conduct psychological assessments and develop individualised intervention plans for pupils with SEMH/SEN needs.
- Deliver direct therapeutic work with children and young people.
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to develop inclusive practices and strategies.
- Provide consultation and training to staff on trauma-informed approaches, emotional regulation, and behaviour support.
- Work with parents/carers and external professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Support the school in meeting EHCP requirements and contribute to annual reviews and multi-agency meetings.
Essential Criteria:
- HCPC-registered Educational Psychologist.
- Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and neurodiversity.
- Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting.
Desirable:
- Experience working in or with specialist SEMH settings.
- Training in therapeutic approaches such as CBT, Play Therapy, or EMDR.
- Knowledge of attachment theory and its application in schools.
