Educational Teaching Assistant - SEND job summary
We are seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Teaching Assistant to work in the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Department, based at Batley Girls' High School. The hours of work are Monday-Friday 8.15am-3:15pm.
The successful candidate will work as part of a team including teaching and other support staff to support the learning and welfare of student/learners. This will include the provision of practical support for learning, educational activities, developing social skills and integration. An interest or qualification in Science is desirable.
The successful applicant will have significant previous experience of working with children/young people, have excellent numeracy and literacy skills and be educated to A level standard (or equivalent). NVQ 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications would be preferable, as would previous experience of assisting classroom teachers in delivering the curriculum and supporting students’ learning in a school setting. Experience with planning and delivering specific targeted interventions is desirable.
