ELSA/Family Support Assistant

Pickwick Academy Trust would like to recruit a permanent, part-time ELSA/ Family Support Assistant, based at Greentrees Primary School.

Hours: 25 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time only, excluding TD Days). The exact pattern is to be agreed with the right candidate.

Salary: Point F9 - £25,119 pro rata, per annum, dependent on experience (actual salary £14,224 per annum).

Start date: 3rd September 2024

Greentrees Primary School is a two site two form entry Primary School with a 12 place Resource Base. The school is situated on the outskirts of Salisbury. The school was judged as Outstanding in its last inspection in March 2015.

The school has strong international links and has an enquiry led skills based broad and balanced curriculum. The school prides itself on its behaviour. It is also committed to teaching children how they learn as well as the content of the curriculum. The school uses Guy Claxton’s 4 Rs of Learning and Carol Dweck’s Growth Mindset model to achieve this.

Greentrees Primary School would like to appoint an enthusiastic and high-quality teacher with vision and creativity, who enjoys working within a dynamic and committed staff. We believe that children only get one chance to experience childhood, and that they have an absolute right to the highest quality of education.

Greentrees Primary School is looking to recruit a ELSA/ Family Support Assistant to:

Provide advice, support and guidance to parents to promote positive care and parenting skills.

Work closely with other agencies and the local community to promote collaborative working.

Ensure a programme of Family Learning is organised and available for parents on both sites.

Support vulnerable families by attending relevant Social Care meetings.

Provide support for children with identified social and emotional needs

Ensure that the pupils can integrate as fully as possible in the nurture based activities undertaken by the other children in the ELSA provision.

Run specific programmes and activities to assist the pupils’ individual learning social and emotional needs based on the nurture principles

Implement these activities and to review progress with the SENCO and parent/carers.
