37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (8am – 4pm Monday to Thursday & 8am – 3.30pm Friday)

The Headteacher and Governing Body are wishing to appoint a proactive and compassionate Emotionally Based school Avoidance & Wellbeing Coach to join our dedicated SEN Department. Countesthorpe Academy is a popular and expanding 11-19 school, within the LiFE Multi-Academy Trust, which is increasingly the school of choice for parents in the area. Job Role

We are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Emotionally Based School Avoidance & Wellbeing Coach.

Core Purpose

Emotionally Based School Avoidance & Wellbeing Coach (EBSAWC) support is a child-centered intervention process designed to help children and young people who are struggling to access education due to severe anxiety and social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs. Children are encouraged to overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and develop resilience through tailored mentoring, tutoring, and emotional support.

We are looking to appoint a motivated, compassionate, and inspiring member of support staff to plan, organize, and deliver a high-quality, innovative, and child-centered EBSA provision that will provide an “Appropriate Provision” for learners within Countesthorpe Academy, helping them confidently re-engage with education and thrive.

Requirements

To carry out the assigned professional duties in accordance with and subject to the provisions of the Education Acts.

To adhere to any relevant Orders and Regulations including the most recent School Pay Policy.

To adhere to any rules, regulations, policies laid down by the Governing Board.

To carry out any duties required by the Headteacher.

Accountability/Responsible to:

Assistant Headteachers / SENDCO / SLT Link

Key Relationships/Liaison with:

Extended Leadership Team, SENDCO, Pastoral HOY, Learning Support Department, Class Teachers, Support Staff, Parents/Carers, and Representatives of External Agencies (e.g., Educational Psychologists, Health and Social Care Professionals).
