Wymondham College Prep School is looking to appoint a nurturing, caring and kind professional who actively wants to make a difference to the lives of children. We are looking for a qualified ELSA who is confident, driven and happy to plan, deliver and lead 1:2:1 and small group sessions with children who present with challenges in aspects of their Social Emotional & Mental Health. We are looking for an individual who wants to join a small nurture team, working together to support children from Reception – Year 6 in numerous aspects of individuals’ social and emotional development and children’s mental health and wellbeing.

THE POST
We are looking for a positive, caring and inspiring ELSA to join the team at Wymondham College Prep School on a permanent basis. The role will support the complement the professional work of teachers as directed.
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA)
- Have previous experience working with children in a pastoral capacity, preferably of primary school age
- Have received training and/or have experience in a range of different academic, SEND and social & emotional areas of child development;
- Be committed to the school’s high standards of teaching, learning and value relationships, wellbeing and belonging to be crucial to children’s development;
- Have excellent communication skills, a warm and caring disposition and a good sense of humour;
- Understand the importance of an inclusive environment, supporting pupils to follow the school’s Good Choice Mantras – ‘Do the Right Thing / Make a Difference / Value Every Voice’;
- Have a nurturing and friendly approach with a high level of professionalism and compassion.
