Engage Teaching Assistant, Level 2 job summary
The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Engage Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at Abraham Moss Community School, Crescent Road, Crumpsall, Manchester, M8 5UF.
The core purpose of the role will be to:
- To work under the instruction/guidance of teachers/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes to enable access to learning for Engage pupils.
- Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area. May be required to supervise groups of pupils undertaking activities in non-teaching situations.
- To act as the link member of staff for and support the development of Personal Development, PSHE and careers in Engage.
- To promote the safety and well-being of pupils in accordance with school policies.
- To drive the minibus to alternative provision as required.
Key responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide particular support for pupils, including those who are in Engage, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individual education/ behaviour plans and personal care programmes including pastoral, social, and welfare matters.
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs.
- Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
- Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by teaching staff.
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
- Act as a keyworker to nominated pupils.
