English/Drama Teacher job summary

We are looking for an English/Drama Teacher to join us at the Skegness Academy from September or sooner.

About You:
You will work together to ensure pupils across the Academy are engaged and enthused in their learning and be innovative in your techniques in doing so.
We are looking for people who have a passion for their subject and can positively influence teaching and learning across the Academy, using innovative techniques to motivate our young learners.

Applications are welcomed from either experienced Teachers or NQTs who want to begin their career in a learning rich environment.

About Us:
The Skegness Academy, part of the Greenwood Academies Trust, is located in the seaside town of Skegness on the beautiful Lincolnshire coast and is on a renewed journey towards ‘Outstanding’. It opened in 2010 and occupies a large site with extensive sports facilities, green space and new and refurbished buildings which give pupils and staff a high quality learning environment.

The academy, led by Todd Johnson, Principal, has a very vibrant, supportive and hardworking team, committed to promoting high achievement in education whilst ensuring that standards of behaviour and uniform are impeccable. Pupils are supported to not only achieve highly but also to ensure they are prepared for their future through a variety of enrichment opportunities.

In Return:
You can be assured that you will be joining a successful Multi Academy Trust that has a great track record in helping children to succeed no matter what their background. The Trust is dedicated to valuing and developing the workforce whether that be through ensuring a fair workload or offering access to bespoke CPD from the Learning Alliance to enhance professional growth.

For NQT’s looking to join the Trust you can be assured that we will invest in developing your practice to ensure you succeed. All NQTs are required to attend the NQT development programme where you will be taken through a range of core areas of professional development including induction and training days where all the NQT’s from the Trust are brought together.

This training doesn’t stop at NQTs as the Learning Alliance also offers programmes for Teachers looking to develop techniques and strategies to improve classroom practice.

We would love to invite perspective candidates to come and visit the Academy to have the opportunity to meet the new senior team and discuss recruitment options within the Academy. If you would like to visit the Academy, please contact Jayne Abbott, PA to the Principal at jabbott@skegnessacademy.org. We look forward to meeting you.
