English Lead & Class Teacher job summary

Polden Bower School are looking for a dynamic, creative and flexible full-time teacher and English Lead to start in September 2026 on a permanent contract.

Polden Bower School has a pupil population of 260, it has three main bases. Albert Street Campus is for our youngest children in Early years and Key Stage 1. Bower Lane Campus is the biggest centre and caters for children from key stage 2 to Post 16 and we have a small Satellite base within Somerset Bridge Primary School. As part of Bower Learning Partnership, we are in a hard Federation with Avalon Special school in Street and we work in collaboration with the Pupil Referral Units in Somerset.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher with experience of working with children who have special educational needs to work within our school. We are looking for excellent classroom teachers who are able to individualise the curriculum to meet the needs of our children who have a wide range of needs.

There is a TLR available for the right candidate to lead English across our all age special school. We are looking for someone who understands the English Reading and Writing Frameworks, who can lead, advise and support teachers across our school to deliver high-quality learning.
