We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English teacher to join our fantastic RADAR team. You'll play a vital role in providing first class teaching to students, helping them re-engage with learning and build brighter futures. If you're resilient, empathetic, and ready to make a positive impact, we want to hear from you.

This post carries a TLR2 for the candidate with the necessary skills and experience to help embed excellent teaching across Radar.

What the school offers its staff

RADAR is a warm and welcoming KS3 and 4 alternative provision shared between Westlands School and The Sittingbourne School, established to help students who are struggling to positively engage with learning in a mainstream environment. Students are placed at RADAR for a fixed period to help them to develop positive learning habits before returning to their home school. Therefore, applicants will need to show enthusiasm for building positive relationships with students and a resilience to keep going, even when the students may have given up on themselves.

The Sittingbourne School is a large, oversubscribed school built on a strong sense of community, making us a warm and very special place to be part of. The successful candidate will join a school with a strong and supportive senior leadership team for whom staff wellbeing is a priority. We appreciate the challenges teachers face and we do all we can to reduce unnecessary workload and cut down on bureaucracy. We take a zero tolerance approach to rudeness and defiance to staff and we make sure that no teacher feels alone when things are tough. Staff also benefit from a wide ranging programme of ongoing staff development.
