What skills and experience we're looking for
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who has experience of working within a special school or experience of leading SEND in a mainstream school, and is looking for a new challenge. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced teacher to lead our resourced provision, for KS1. Building on our existing enhanced resource base for KS2 we have opened a second classroom aimed at supporting 8 children with communication and interaction as their primary need.
The role will involve leading the KS1 provision, delivering bespoke programmes of work and support to pupils, and working in collaboration with outside agencies to ensure the highest of outcomes and provision. The successful candidate will work alongside a forward-thinking Senior Leadership Team and an existing structure to highly support communication and interaction needs both within the schools and across Hull Collaborative Academy Trust.
The Trustees of HCAT are seeking to appoint a motivated, skilled and resilient teacher with experience in supporting children on the Autistic Spectrum/Attachment difficulties and preverbal children. You will direct and support a skilled team to deliver a bespoke curriculum to the children and promote the school’s commitment to inclusive education.
We are looking for people who:
- Are excellent teachers, with a proven record of working within a Special School and/or leading SEND within a mainstream school.
- Understand the expectations the National Curriculum and engagement model whilst having account of the bespoke needs of individual children.
- Have effective communication skills when liaising with staff, parents and external agencies.
- Are empathetic and understand the difficulties some children and families face.
- Understanding of restorative practices.
