You will work under the guidance of teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences to individuals, small groups, and occasionally whole classes, helping to raise standards and promote inclusion across the school.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates high expectations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. You will contribute to classroom learning, support pupils with a range of needs (including those with SEND or additional support plans), and help create a nurturing and stimulating environment where all children can thrive.

Applicants should hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) and have GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. Experience of working with children in a school setting is essential, and experience supporting pupils with a variety of needs, including social, emotional, and communication difficulties is desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking Trust that places students at the heart of everything we do. As a growing organisation, New College Durham Academies Trust offers staff the chance to contribute to our continued development and success. Our People Strategy underpins our commitment to being a great place to work. We focus on engaging and including all staff, rewarding and recognising their contribution, supporting professional development, and attracting and welcoming the very best people into our schools.

Our work is guided by five values: we are respectful, ambitious, collaborative, inclusive and resilient. These values shape how we work together and how we support both our staff and our students to achieve excellence.

New College Durham Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
