The EPQ has flourished since its addition to our Post 16 curriculum, and is recognised by both students and staff as highly beneficial for students applying for higher/further education and training or employment.
Whilst Coordinators are expected to take responsibility in the following areas, the fluid nature of the development of the school will mean that changes are inevitable, and this list should not be viewed as exhaustive.
- Develop and provide access to sessions that help train EPQ students how to research, plan and construct a project of their own choosing over the course of the academic year.
- Report regularly, as part of the academy's assessment procedures on the progress of students
- Analyse data on student performance and act on the findings to raise standards.
- Monitor students' progress and put in place appropriate interventions to support those students' who progress is deemed unsatisfactory.
- Be responsible for ensuring the highest possible standards of attainment are achieved by the students during their period of completion for the EPQ.
- Oversee the recruitment and selection of students to follow the EPQ qualification.
