Estate and Facilities Manager
Working Year - 52.14 weeks (26 days holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays)
37 hours per week
The position is permanent, following the usual 6-month probationary period.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a committed, proactive, and highly capable Estate and Facilities Manager to oversee the effective management, maintenance, security, and health and safety of our site. This pivotal role ensures our premises remain safe, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of building systems and maintenance needs, alongside excellent problem-solving abilities and practical skills. Flexibility is key, as the role may involve varied working hours, including some evenings and weekends to support site lettings and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Building and grounds management: Ensure the upkeep, maintenance, and security of all school buildings and grounds.
- Health and safety: Act as the competent person for health and safety, leading risk assessments and ensuring all procedures are followed.
- Project management: Oversee building projects, such as refurbishments and expansions, from planning through to completion.
- Budget and contract management: Manage the maintenance budget, best value site-related procurement and negotiating with external contractors.
- Staff supervision: Manage and support site staff.
- Compliance: Ensure the school estate and its operations comply with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
