Estates Decorating Supervisor job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Estates Decorating Supervisor to join our growing Estates Team at The Howard Partnership Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a lead role in the delivery of a large-scale, in-house redecoration and enhancement programme across our 13 schools, ensuring that our learning environments are safe, welcoming, and professionally maintained.

Reporting to the Estates Partner, this key role will involve the day-to-day planning and supervision of a team of up to six in-house painters and decorators. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the team’s work including scheduling, quality control, compliance with health and safety regulations, and coordination with school teams to minimise disruption during term time.

You will bring with you:

  • Proven experience in painting and decorating, with strong knowledge of surface preparation, application techniques and materials
  • Leadership experience in a similar role, with the ability to motivate and support a small team
  • A strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), to complete reports, order materials, and monitor team progress

The role will primarily focus on internal redecoration, though external work will also be required. While this is a leadership role, there will be occasions where hands-on decorating is needed to support the team or meet deadlines.

Additional responsibilities may include assisting with general site maintenance and premises security in the absence of site caretakers.

Key Information:

  • This role is full-time role
  • Leave must be taken during term time to ensure availability during school holidays
  • Uniform and tools will be provided
  • A full UK driving licence is essential due to travel between Trust schools

Join a collaborative, supportive Estates team committed to making a positive impact on the learning environment for thousands of students across Surrey.
