Monday – Friday, 5:00pm – 9:00pm, Saturday – 5 hours to be worked flexibly, initially 9.00am – 1.00pm

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, pro-active, and hardworking Evening Assistant Caretaker, to join our school as part of the site team to support the school facility lettings. The successful candidate will additionally contribute to the safety, appearance and upkeep of the school. The role is for 25 hours per week, with flexibility around the Saturday hours and the potential for increased hours as our lettings expand. This position is 52 weeks per year, however, there will be school closure over the Christmas period where you will be expected to take annual leave.
The successful candidate will be involved in the after-school lettings, be the point of contact for the hirers and resolving any issues that may arise. They will also be responsible for locking the school site at the end of the day, and will also undertake general caretaking duties including cleaning, maintenance and security of the site and will work under the direction of our Site Manager.
The successful candidates will need to have:
- Enthusiasm for maintaining a school environment to a high standard to support children's learning.
- The ability to use your own initiative, be able to prioritise your workload and work effectively as part of a team that looks after the safety and welfare of the site.
- Good DIY skills.
- A physical fitness to undertake some heavy lifting, moving, and handling.
- A willingness to participate in training and development.
Thames Park Secondary School opened in September 2020 in Thurrock and moved to our state-of-the-art facilities in 2022 in north Grays. Thames Park Secondary School. opened to Year 7 pupils in central Grays in September 2020 as a brand new school. Grays is a vibrant, dynamic, rewarding and inspiring place to work, and enjoys excellent transport links. The area is undergoing large scale redevelopment in Europe as part of the Thames Gateway Development. We are part of a £20+ million building programme and will have excellent, purpose-built accommodation with state of the art specialist equipment and facilities in September 2022. We are the newest school in the Osborne Co-operative Academies Trust which comprises of 12 schools.
