The Role
We are seeking to appoint Exam Invigilators to join our professional and friendly exams team. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth and fair running of examinations, helping students perform at their best in a calm and supportive environment.
As an Exam Invigilator, you will work under the direction of the Exams Officer to uphold the integrity of the examination process in line with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and observe students during examinations to ensure JCQ regulations are followed.
- Assist in preparing exam rooms and materials prior to examinations.
- Distribute and collect exam papers securely and efficiently.
- Ensure candidates are seated and identified correctly.
- Provide clear instructions and manage exam conditions effectively.
- Record and report any incidents, irregularities, or disruptions.
- Support students in accessing arrangements where required (training provided).
- Maintain confidentiality and security at all times.
About You
You do not need previous experience — full training will be provided — but you will need to demonstrate:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a calm, professional manner.
- The ability to work well as part of a team and follow procedures.
- Confidence in managing groups of students.
- Basic IT skills (email and mobile communication).
- A flexible approach and availability during the main exam periods.
A background in education or experience working with young people would be an advantage but is not essential.
