What skills and experience we're looking for
Millthorpe School are seeking to recruit Exam Invigilators to join our existing, well-established team, to start as soon as possible.
Working as a team, our Invigilators ensure a calm environment is provided for our students to help them perform at their best. Invigilators will help to make sure the right students are in the right places, provide vital information and ensure that students have all materials and information needed for each exam to ensure examination board rules are adhered to. Exams can be amongst the most important and stressful events for our students; it is therefore essential that they are conducted in the right way and our Invigilators are crucial to this process.
Exam Invigilators work on a casual (as and when needed) basis, with their peak periods of work during May and June each year. Other periods of work are during November and January. With this in mind, we would like to appoint our Invigilators as soon as possible, but we can be flexible on start dates. As this position does not lead to a regular working pattern, we find it suits people best who are looking for something extra to fit around existing commitments. Ideally you will be able to commit to a minimum of three days work in any given week.
Whilst experience of exam invigilation, and/or working in a secondary school environment would be helpful, it is not essential as full training will be given.
Interviews will be held during the week commencing 11 November 2024.
An application form and further details are available to download from the Trust website: https://excellearningtrust.org.uk/careers/
Please email completed applications to recruitment@elt.org.uk for the attention of Kavina Rothenburg, Acting Principal.
Excel Learning Trust reserves the right to close advertisements early. Advertisements will therefore close at midnight either on the advertised closing date, or at the point the decision has been taken to close the advertisement early. Applicants will be invited for interview once suitable applications are received, therefore early applications are strongly encouraged and advised.
What the school offers its staff
In return, we can offer a supportive working environment, with colleagues who care deeply, are experts in their fields and who are passionate about what they do. We also offer a range of staff benefits, and further details regarding our benefits and information about our Trust can be found on our website.
Commitment to safeguarding
Excel Learning Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are made in accordance with safer recruitment practices and the statutory guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education. Online checks will be carried out on all shortlisted candidates, and all appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and checks regarding suitability to work with children.
