Exam Invigilators

Required - As soon as possible

Aston Manor Academy are seeking to appoint Exam Invigilators to increase our existing pool of staff to assist with examination supervision throughout our busy exam periods. The role is ideally suited to applicants who feel a sense of responsibility for today's young people and are highly organised, vigilant and reliable, have excellent attention to detail and have the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Hours worked will be by assignment and normally based on the exam timetable. Duties would include preparation of exam rooms, distribution of scripts and supervision of students during examinations. We particularly need staff who are willing to act as a reader or scribe for students who have additional examination access arrangements. Training will be given to the successful applicants, however an approachable personality, the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team would be welcomed.

This work may appeal to professional people who have retired and those who have experience of working with secondary age children, although the role is not exclusive to these groups.

Equitas Academies Trust was formed in September 2012 and incorporates Aston Manor Academy (Secondary) and Chilwell Croft Academy (Primary). Both Academies are happy, exciting and inspiring learning environments for their children who are from a vibrant mix of cultures. The staff and Trustees have a great sense of pride in their schools and care passionately about the pupils they serve. We are consistently in the top 15% of schools nationally for achievement.

Aston Manor Academy serves a culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged catchment area yet year on year produces excellent results for its very deserving students. We firmly believe that one of the key hallmarks of Aston Manor Academy is the positive, friendly and supportive ethos which enables all of our students to make progress, both academically and in their personal development. In our last Ofsted inspection (June 2017) we were judged to be Outstanding in all areas. In addition, our Sixth Form is rated as one of the best for progress in Birmingham.

As an employer, Equitas Academies Trust offers:

  • A supportive and nurturing working environment
  • A commitment to CPD opportunities
  • Employee wellbeing benefits including access to an electric vehicle scheme, Voluntary Health Care Cash Plan, cycle to work scheme, BHSF Connect EAP and many more.
  • Employer contributions to Local Government Pensions Scheme (support staff) or Teacher Pensions Scheme (teaching staff)
  • Pay progression centred around a robust performance management process
  • An inclusive and caring ethos.

We pride ourselves on improving the lives of our students, as well as supporting the fantastic team who dedicate themselves to students every single day. This is an opportunity to really make a difference and enjoy a varied, challenging and ultimately rewarding role.

We would welcome visits to Aston Manor Academy prior to the closing date or alternatively, delighted to answer any questions you may have. To arrange a visit, please contact the HR Department on 0121 359 8108 or via email at jobs@equitasacademiestrust.com
